The Human–Work Alignment Diagnostic System

The Alignment & Engagement Assessment is an inportant diagnostic layer within the ThriveOS framework designed to evaluate the degree of alignment between individuals and their work environment.

Rather than focusing only on performance or well-being outcomes, Alignment & Engagement examines a more fundamental question: how well do people fit within their roles and organizations, and how does this alignment shape engagement, motivation, and sustainable performance?

Rooted in established research on Person–Job Fit and Person–Organization Fit, Alignment & Engagement provides a structured view of alignment across two critical levels of the employee experience: the job they perform and the organization they operate within.

Person–Role Fit

Is there alignment between the person and their job?

This dimension evaluates how well an individual’s capabilities, preferences, and working style align with the demands and structure of their role. It includes three core lenses:

Capability–Task Fit

Alignment between skills, strengths, and task requirements.

→ Demand–Capacity Fit

Balance between job demands and individual capacity (cognitive, emotional, and workload-related).

→ Preference–Work Style Fit

Fit between how a person prefers to work and how the role is structured (autonomy, structure, pace, interaction style).

👉 This layer captures whether individuals are placed in roles where they can perform effectively and sustainably.

Person–Organization Fit

Is there alignment between the person and the organisation

This dimension evaluates alignment between the individual and the broader organizational system, culture, and leadership environment.

Values–Culture Fit

Alignment between personal values and organizational norms, purpose, and culture.

→ Leadership–Relationship Fit

Compatibility between employees and leadership style, including trust and psychological safety.

→ Work Environment Fit

Fit between individuals and the organization’s structure, pace, bureaucracy, and operational ways of working.
