Applied Learning Modules

Practical tools for real workplace challenges

Practice-oriented 15-30 minutes modules that help you apply key concepts to real workplace situations. Through tools, frameworks, and realistic scenarios, these sessions bridge the gap between understanding and doing.

WHO Healthy Workplace Framework

The WHO Healthy Workplace Framework provides a practical roadmap for creating workplaces that support employee health, safety, and wellbeing. Rather than focusing solely on individual wellbeing, the framework considers how leadership, work environments, organisational culture, and community engagement contribute to healthier organisations. In this course, you'll explore the four action areas of the WHO framework and learn how organisations can build healthier, safer, and more sustainable workplaces.

Using Emotional Intelligence for Stress Management

Emotional intelligence plays a vital role in how we respond to stress, regulate emotions, and navigate workplace challenges. By developing greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and relationship skills, individuals can reduce the impact of stress and respond more effectively under pressure. In this course, you'll explore how emotional intelligence can become a practical tool for managing everyday workplace stress.

The SMART Work Design Model

The SMART Work Design Model is one of the world's leading evidence-based frameworks for designing healthy, motivating, and high-performing jobs. Developed by Professor Sharon Parker and colleagues, the model identifies five key work characteristics that influence employee wellbeing, motivation, learning, and performance. In this course, you'll explore each dimension of SMART Work Design and discover how better job design creates healthier people and better organisational outcomes.

The National Wellness Institute Model

The National Wellness Institute (NWI) Model views wellness as an active, lifelong process of making choices that lead to a healthier, more fulfilling life. Building on a multidimensional approach to wellness, the model encourages individuals and organisations to create environments that support personal growth, healthy lifestyles, and overall quality of life. In this course, you'll explore the principles of the NWI Model and discover how they can be applied to promote sustainable wellbeing in the workplace.

The Mental Fitness Continuum

The Mental Fitness Continuum provides a practical way to understand how mental wellbeing changes over time. Rather than viewing mental health as either "healthy" or "unwell," the framework recognises that people move along a continuum influenced by everyday experiences, stress, recovery, and life events. In this course, you'll explore the stages of the Mental Fitness Continuum and learn how individuals and organisations can recognise early signs of change and promote positive mental fitness.

The Kaleidoscope Career Model

The Kaleidoscope Career Model (KCM) offers a fresh perspective on career development by recognising that people's career priorities change throughout their lives. Rather than following a single definition of success, the model explains how authenticity, balance, and challenge shape career decisions at different life and career stages. In this course, you'll explore the Kaleidoscope Career Model and discover how it can support meaningful, sustainable career development for individuals and organisations.

The Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Model

The Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) Model is one of the most influential frameworks for understanding how work affects employee wellbeing, motivation, burnout, and performance. By examining the balance between job demands and job resources, the model explains why some work environments energise employees while others lead to exhaustion. In this course, you'll explore the foundations of the JD-R Model, understand its relationship with the Job Demand–Control Model, and learn how organisations can design healthier and more sustainable work.

The Gartner Human Deal

The Gartner Human Deal introduces a new way of thinking about the relationship between organisations and employees. Rather than viewing work as a simple exchange of labour for pay, the Human Deal emphasises trust, flexibility, purpose, and shared value. In this course, you'll explore Gartner's Human Deal framework and discover how organisations can create more human-centred workplaces that strengthen employee wellbeing, engagement, and organisational performance.

The Gallup Wellbeing Model

The Gallup Wellbeing Model is one of the world's most influential frameworks for understanding holistic wellbeing. Rather than focusing solely on health or happiness, it explores five interconnected dimensions that shape how people live and work. In this course, you'll learn how the model works, why it matters, and how organisations can use it to create healthier, more engaged, and more sustainable workplaces.

The Deloitte Human Sustainability Framework

The Deloitte Human Sustainability Framework challenges organisations to rethink the relationship between work and people. Rather than viewing employees as resources to optimise, the framework encourages organisations to create environments where people can grow, thrive, and sustain their wellbeing while contributing to organisational success. In this course, you'll explore the principles of Human Sustainability and discover how organisations can create lasting value for both people and business.
